Are you ready to ‘steal’ your competitors’ clients using an automated LinkedIn approach?
Today, I will share with you a step-by-step guide on how to approach your competitors’ Facebook audience (Facebook groups) and reach them on LinkedIn. By following this technique, you can start to book tons of demos full of warm prospects via LinkedIn on autopilot (results at the end!).
But you might be wondering why? Before diving into the details, some context explanations:
You have probably noticed that LinkedIn is booming, especially since social distancing forces us to renew our way of doing business. The social platform today has more than 950 million users!
Businesses generate more leads than ever thanks to the use of LinkedIn. In fact, LinkedIn is the #1 channel for the vast majority of B2B marketers to distribute content and generate leads.
- It is the most used social media platform by Fortune 500 companies.
- 92% of marketing managers consider LinkedIn as the best place to find quality content.
- 40% of monthly active users use LinkedIn daily.
- 71% of B2B marketers use this channel to generate leads.
The problem
However, there is a problem. Everyone sends the same plain, flavorless, and unpersonalized message. If you want to rise above the daily spam and bad practices, you need to improve your outreach messages!
Hi [FIRST NAME],
I saw you work at [COMPANY NAME]. I really like what you do! Let’s connect so I can tell you more about our solutions.
Because this type of approach is very widespread… everyone uses the same variants and then complains that LinkedIn prospecting automation DOESN’T work.
So, if you want to stay light-years ahead of your competitors, you need to focus more on effective communication strategies to find your target audience and use the right industry tools as well as the best templates to convert where others fail!
This guide will teach you how to achieve an acceptance rate of up to 80% with highly customized LinkedIn campaigns thanks to this effective and original multichannel strategy.
Facebook audience scraping strategy
Create a comparison page
To make all of this make sense, I need to give you a little background.Actually, let me first tell you a story…It has been two years since I started my lead generation agency services on LinkedIn. First as a micro-business, then under the LeadIn SAS structure.Almost all tools were Chrome extensions and they did not particularly meet my needs as an agency owner.I had to keep my laptop running 24/7 for the tool to work.I had to create detailed reports myself (for each LinkedIn account!).I had to manage the LinkedIn inbox natively through their system (which was a real nightmare). So much for automation! Many tools were not very safe and LinkedIn was always quick to detect them too…It was too time-consuming. It was supposed to automate some tasks, but I ended up spending more time managing everything. So, some time later and as the agency grew, we ended up investing in our own tool, designed for salespeople, digital agencies, growth hackers, and people managing multiple LinkedIn accounts. And yes, that tool is LeadIn.If I’m telling this story, it’s because it is directly related to the first step of this growth hack. You see, in this guide, I will address the audience of Dux-Soup (an indirect competitor). And since I have personally been a Dux-Soup user in the past, I know all too well their difficulties. That is why I was able to create a comparison page that I know will resonate with their users on the key points.

Transform a competitor's Facebook group followers into LinkedIn profiles
By the way, it works regardless of the group! Take a Facebook group where your target audience is, scrape it using Phantombuster, and contact them using LeadIn. It’s a simple and cost-effective way to find your target audience on LinkedIn, already knowing what interests them.
Facebook groups are an ideal place to find your target audience and observe their behavior. Every marketer knows that engaged audiences on Facebook are found in specific groups. Because the people in a group are much more interested in a specific topic than the “interest targeting” Facebook shows you in its ad manager…
- Find the Facebook groups where your audience is
- Retrieve the names of people in these specific Facebook groups.
- Turn their names into LinkedIn profiles
- Contact them using LeadIn, and that’s it!
Facebook group extraction
First, we need to find a Facebook group of our target audience.
For the purposes of the example, I will focus on the Dux-Soup user group on Facebook.
Step 1: use Phantombuster to retrieve the names of Facebook group members.
Once you have a group in mind, you register and install the Phantombuster extension. Then you access the appropriate API, in this case, it is “Facebook Group Extractor“.
To extract the audience from the Facebook group, the steps are as follows:
- Go to the URL: https://phantombuster.com/automations/facebook/6987/facebook-group-members-export
- Click “Use this Phantom”.
- Click “Get cookies from Facebook” (make sure you have done step 1 correctly).
- Copy the URL of the Facebook group you want to extract.
- Paste the URL into the “Facebook Group URL/Spreadsheet URL” field.
- Give a name to your action.
- Click “Save”.
- Select “Manually”.
- Select the type of notification you want to receive.
- Click “Launch”.
- Wait a moment and when Phantombuster is ready,
- Click “Download/get link”.
Step 2: Find their LinkedIn profiles
Once you have a list of names from the Facebook group, you need to find their LinkedIn profiles.
Hereβs how to do it:
- Go to the URL: https://phantombuster.com/phantombuster/4015/linkedin-profile-url-finder
- Click “Use this Phantom”.
Create a new spreadsheet with Google Drive.
- Go to your spreadsheet and copy/paste the profile URL into your Google spreadsheet.
- Copy the spreadsheet URL with LinkedIn URLs into Phantombuster.
- Give a name to your action.
- Click “Save”.
- Select “Manually”.
- Select the type of notification you want to receive.
- Click “Launch”.
- Wait a bit and when Phantombuster is ready, click “Download CSV”.
Step 3: Use LeadIn to contact them
LeadIn is one of the safest and most unique automation tools for a comprehensive omni-channel approach. To get in touch with your target audience, you need to import your CSV file of LinkedIn profiles into LeadIn.
Hereβs how to do it:
- Go to “Campaign” in the left menu.
- Click “Create a Campaign” in the upper right corner of the page.
- Give your campaign a name.
- Choose the “Import contacts from a CSV” tab.
- Drop your CSV file in this box to send it for analysis.
Now, all you need to do is set up your communication campaign in LeadIn.
Hereβs how to proceed:
- Press “Next”.
- Set your filters.
- Give a name to your campaign.
- Since your imported list is already ready, click “Next”.
- Start building your campaign by choosing “Simple sequences” or “Smart campaign” mode to build scenarios with “IF” conditions.
Write the content (in the body part) of your connection request, follow-up messages, InMails or Emails.
- Select the right time delta between your different follow-up messages.
- Launch your campaign by clicking the “Start” button at the bottom right.
- The campaign will start running.
Note: remember to refine the data in your CSV document so that prospects engaged in your sequences do not suspect any automated approach (accents, 1st letter in uppercase, company names, etc)!
Bonus: if you haven’t done it, or are running other types of LeadIn campaigns, it can be time-consuming and less easy for non-experts to go through the CSV step to refine your data. You can do it directly from LeadIn, in the prospect tab, by selecting your campaign and clicking on “Edit Leads“. The ideal option to make life easier!

Results
The reason why it works so well is that:- You are targeting your audience in a very specific way.
- You share something you both have in common (same FB group/interest in growth tools).
- You are not trying to sell them anything.
- 76% acceptance rate.
- 41% responses to follow-ups.
- 42 demos booked.
